First steps with SiteCreator

Setting up your site doesn't have to be difficult or take a long time. It can take just a few minutes to set up and publish a basic site, and the SiteCreator makes it easy to update, edit, and grow your site at your convenience. Remember, having a website, any website, is better than no website. Your site does not have to be perfect, and you don't have to finish it today.

Prepare content for your site

You can make the experience of building your site faster and easier with a bit of preparation.

Minimal requirements

We recommend you have at least:

• one image, for example, your logo
• a paragraph of text about you or your business

Other optional preparation

• Gather other images you'd like to use on your site, like pictures of yourself, your work, your premises, your staff, etc.
• Create a list of important links like
  • social media profiles
  • business pages and profiles
  • video links like Youtube or Twitch channels
  • links to reviews reviews
  • a link to your business on Google maps.
• Write a few paragraphs of text for your website copy. Think of things like
  • what do you want visitors to your site to read first
  • background info about your and/or your business
  • a description of the products or services you offer
• Prepare any other info that visitors to your site might need, e.g. form, brochures, and other downloads.

If you want to add a Google Map

Create a Google Maps API key and enable the following APIs:

• Maps Elevation API
• Maps JavaScript API
• Places API
• Geocoding API

Choose a template

If you're just starting out, and only need a basic one-page site, we recommend starting with an Under Construction template. The following are very easy to modify to create a simple one-page site:

• International foundation
• Interior design
• Opening soon
• Page title
• ScisStudio
• Welcome page
