Gmail app

Use your email account in the Gmail App
You don't need a new email app to use your Imaginet-hosted email account. Follow these steps to add your email to your Gmail app on your phone.
Setting it up
Open the Gmail app and tap the circle in the top right corner, then tap Add another account.
Tap Other.
Enter your email address and tap MANUAL SETUP.
Tap Personal (IMAP).
Enter your password and tap NEXT.
Under Incoming server settings:
- Check that your full email address has been entered as the username.
- Your password should already have been entered, but if the password field is blank, enter your email password again.
- For Server enter imap.imaginet.co.za.
- Tap NEXT
Under Outgoing server settings
- Check that your full email address has been entered as the username.
- Your password should already have been entered, but if the password field is blank, enter your email password again.
- For Server enter smtpSt.imaginet.co.za.
- Tap NEXT
The app will accept the settings and check your email account. You should now receive a 'Success! message.
Check that your name is correct and tap NEXT.
Adjust the account settings to your liking, but the setting Sync email for this account' should stay enabled.
Your account is now set up! You can switch between viewing your Gmail emails and this account by tapping the circle at the top right of the app, and then tapping on the inbox you'd like to view.
Adding your address to your Gmail Account
Please note that following the steps above will not allow you to access your emails on the Gmail website. Following these steps will only set up your email account on the Gmail app on your phone. To access your email on desktop, you can do any of the following:
To keep your emails in your Gmail account so that they are accessible on the app and via the Gmail website, you can do one of the following:
- Host your emails with Google. Note that you will have to pay Google for this service, and link your domain to Google's servers.
