What is Dial-up?

From Imaginet FAQ
Jump to: navigation, search

Dial-up is the most basic and affordable form of internet connectivity. With our unlimited Dial-up package it does not matter how often you use your account, your package price will always stay the same.

Dial-up uses a normal phone line to access the internet. There's no need for any special line services. Even a pre-paid phone line will work. The time you spend online will be billed by Telkom as a phone call.

In order to make use of dial-up, you must have a PC with a dial-up modem, and you must have an active Telkom phone line. If you're unsure whether your PC will support dial-up, please see What do you need in order to make use of Dial-up?
