Setting up a new bridged PPPoE connection

Windows XP

WindowsR.jpg Hold the Windows button and press the R button on your keyboard.
XP Bridged01.png This will pop up the Run window. In the Dialogue box type in ncpa.cpl and press Enter or click OK.
XP Bridged02.png This will open the Network Connections window. Click on Create a new connection under Network Tasks.
XP Bridged03.png This will start the New Connection Wizard. On the first page Click on Next.
XP Bridged04.png Then select Connect to the Internet and click Next.
XP Bridged05.png Select Set up my connection manually and click Next.
XP Bridged06.png Select Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password and then click Next.
XP Bridged07.png In the dialogue box type the name you would like to give your connection and then click Next.
XP Bridged08.png Fill in your Username and type your password in the Password and Confirm Password boxes and then click Next.
XP Bridged09.png You have now finished the Connection Wizard Setup. Tick the Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop box if you would like and Icon on your desktop which will allow you to establish the connection.
XP Bridged10.png To connect just double-click on the shortcut you just created.
XP Bridged11.png This will pop-up the Connection Window. Click on the connect button.
XP Bridged12.png A Connecting windows will briefly pop-up and then disappear when the connection is established.

Windows 7

Example.jpg Click on the Start button and then click on Control Panel. Example.jpg Click on View network status and tasks under Network and Internet. Example.jpg Click on Set up a new connection or network under Change your networking settings. Example.jpg Select Connect to the Internet and then click Next. Example.jpg If you already have a connection established you may need to select Set up a new connection anyway. Example.jpg Select Broadband(PPPoE) Example.jpg Now fill in your account details and click on Connect. Example.jpg Windows will now attempt to connect using the information given. Example.jpg If successful you will see the following screen. Your connection is now established. Example.jpg To establish the connection in future simply click on your network icon. Example.jpg Then select your connection and click on the Connect button. Example.jpg A prompt with your account details will pop up. Click on connect. Example.jpg Windows will now attempt to connect. Example.jpg When successful the connection can be seen by clicking on the network icon.
