Installing an E-Commerce CMS is easier than you think, simply follow the instructions below and you should be good to go.
- Step 1 (Download Opencart Installer Files)
Download the latest version of Open Cart from the following link Opencart Download and upload the files to the server using the FTP method that you prefer.
- Step 2 (Run the installer)
You are now ready to run the Opencart Installer, so open a new tab in browser and type the domain name. You should then see the following screen below and remember to accept the terms and conditions before trying to click on continue.
- Step 3 (Pre-Installation check)
This is just the Pre-Installation check which checks to see if the server that's going to host your Opencart CMS meets the requirements. If any warning should appear, please let us know and we can investigate further.
- Step 4 (Configuration)
During this step, you need to make sure that you have entered the correct database details.
Database Host: //This can be left as localhost or you can change it to mysql.yourdomain.co.za as provided in the datasheet. User: // This will be the same as the database name Password: // Database password Database Name: // Database name Database Prefix: // This can be left blank
You also need to enter and admin username, password and email address. NB make note of these details entered as you will need this to login.
Once you have entered all the required details click continue
- Step 5 (Instillation Complete and Remove Installation Folder)
Once the installation is complete, you then need remove the installation directory using your FTP client, and that's it you are done.
