Billing dates
Imaginet conducts only one billing run each month. You will receive your invoice on the 1st day of each month, and the amount due will be deducted from your account at midnight on the 1st working day of each month.
Debit order and Credit card charges
Our debits are processed by a company called Netcash. Your bank statement will therefore show a debit with a reference like NETCASH 12345678 IMAGINET. If you have any queries about a debit that has been conducted against your account, please feel free to contact us!
Payment for new accounts
When you sign up for a new account with Imaginet, you will be asked for your payment information. Your first payment will not be deducted right away. You will only be billed on the 1st of the following month, but your services will be activated instantly.
Billing in advance
Imaginet bills for all service in advance. In other words, on 1 January you will be billed for January's services. This means that when you first apply for services, your first invoice will be for the first two months of service.
For example, if you apply for a dial-up package (R49 per month) on 15 December, you will only pay on 1 January. Your 1 January bill will be for R99: R49 for December, and R49 for January. Each subsequent invoice will be for only 1 month in advance. I.e. on 1 February you will only pay R49, for February's service.
Pro-rata billing
For the first month of service, some Imaginet services are billed pro-rata, while others are not. Here's how you will be billed for the following packages for the first month of service:
Per GB ADSL
Per GB packages are billed pro rata for the first month of service, based on the portion of data used. For example, a 10GB package is R135 per month. If you sign up for a 10GB package in January, but you only use 5GB that month, you will only be billed R67.50 for January. This will be added to your first invoice, which you will receive on 1 February, and which will also include the full monthly fee of R135 for February (see Billing in advance).
Uncapped ADSL
Uncapped packages are not billed pro rata for the first month of service. This means that you will be billed the full monthly fee for the first month of service, even if you signed up after the 1st. For example, a 384kbps package is R149 per month. If you sign up for one on 15 January, you will be billed the full R149 for January. This will be added to your first invoice, which you will receive on 1 February, and which will also include the full monthly fee of R149 for February (see Billing in advance).
Business ADSL
Uncapped packages are billed pro rata for the first month of service. This means that you will be billed for the first month of service based on the number of days on which the service was active, based on a month of 30 days. For example, a 384kbps package is R499 per month. If if your service is activated on 16 January, you will be billed R249.50 for January:
R499/30 days in a month = R16.63 per day.
R16.63 x 15 days of service = R249.50.
This will be added to your first invoice, which you will receive on 1 February, and which will also include the full monthly fee of R499 for February (see Billing in advance).
Hosting services
Hosting packages are billed pro rata for the first month of service, based on the portion of the traffic allowance used. For example, a Nano hosting package is R9 per month, and allows for 200MB traffic. If you sign up for a Nano package in January, but you only use 100MB that month, you will only be billed R4.50 for January. This will be added to your first invoice, which you will receive on 1 February, and which will also include the full monthly fee of R9 for February (see Billing in advance) as well as the once-off hosting set-up fee in full.
Mobile Broadband
Mobile packages are billed pro rata for the first month of service, based on the portion of data used. For example, a 1GB MTN package is R399 per month. If you sign up for a 1GB package in January, but you only use 512MB that month, you will only be billed R199.50 for January. This will be added to your first invoice, which you will receive on 1 February, and which will also include the full monthly fee of R399 for February (see Billing in advance) as well as the once-off set-up fee in full.
Dial-up
Dial-up packages are not billed pro rata for the first month of service. This means that you will be billed the full monthly fee for the first month of service, even if you signed up after the 1st. For example, a dial-up package is R49 per month. If you sign up for one on 15 January, you will be billed the full R49 for January. This will be added to your first invoice, which you will receive on 1 February, and which will also include the full monthly fee of R49 for February (see Billing in advance).
